The Curious SF Project

A collection of the infinitesimal awesomeness…
that makes this city
OUR city.

From skyline-defining buildings to oddities only a local could love, everyone has a sight that signifies home. Take a fresh look at your surroundings and capture a photograph illustrating this week’s theme. Our favorites will receive showers of adulation, maddest of props, and maybe even a shiny little thumbs-up emoji. HOW TO PLAY ALONG: 1. Snap your very own original photo 2. Post it to Twitter or Instagram with the tag #locallandmark 3. Win an extra helping of self esteem when we select your photo for the round-up. (Taken with instagram)

Aside from the people, the food, the music, and the art, I love all the tiny worlds wrapped into this one city. All the districts have their own patented aesthetic of what makes them special, and I feel like they thrive off of one another perfectly. I especially appreciate golden gate park and the presidio. We are really lucky to have that sort of terrain here, and if you explore it enough, it’ll make you forget you’re even in a city! SF is a magical place. Even on the gloomiest of days, it’s so colorful here.

I love San Francisco because it’s truly a city of infinite possibilities. Want to start an all-harmonica, vegan rock band? I bet you’ll find members. I can walk around this city and always find something new and original, being done by someone who truly loves what they do.

I love San Francisco because of the art and culture, which is solidified through history. I’m moreso referring to terrodactyl’s rather than the Grateful Dead… though they both play significant roles in enabling a hermit to play music in these windy streets.

San Francisco is great because of our small tight nit neighborhoods. I’m in Bernal Heights and just opened a funky thrift/vintage store. My neighbors are absolutely awesome. I set up shop in two weeks and everyone has been so welcoming and supportive. Josie at The Front Porch comes in often to say hello. Joe from El Amigo Bar serves my favorite drinks. Paul at The Royal Cuckoo has a live pianist weekly. Eden at Secession Art & Design has a unique boutique and the folks at Ichi Sushi feed me!

I love San Francisco. You can take your dog to Safeway or walk into a coffee shop, sit right down and have breakfast. I love the Dog friendly parks and the fact that you can take them to bars like zeitgeist or martinis. It’s that. ….and the mustaches. Especially in the mission.

A must see even if you don’t go inside, is the Legion of Honor. Beautiful. Great view of Golden Gate Bridge and always exhibits of Leonardo da Vinci or Picasso or Matisse. Enjoy.
